Meet the owner of Island Wedding, Mary Haggerty
I moved to Ocracoke Island in 2006 where I opened my shop, Ocracoke Photo. I came to the Island with over 20 years of photography experience. I have worked as a photojournalist, portrait, wedding, and fine art photographer. My clients included many publications including the New York Times. My fine art photographs have hung in galleries and museums. I have been the recipient of a number of artist grants for my work. I have published a book of my black & white photographs, American Journal: a collection of offbeat small town road trips. For the past five years I have been happily running my very popular portrait and wedding studio with the beautiful backdrop of Ocracoke Island, NC.
As my business grew I found that I was spending a lot of time helping my wedding photography clients plan their weddings on these beautiful remote Islands and realized that having a destination wedding could be a lot of work and very challenging from far away. So I decided to create wedding packages for couples who wanted to have a beautiful Island Wedding on Ocracoke or Hatteras Island without all the work and worry. So, there you have it… Island Wedding!
